Here's mine, been readin for a while and finally joined this forum...

Jim Miller
McKinney, TX
41 - wow can't believe that one!
Work at JCPenney as a catalog/internet inventory analyst

No kids, 2 dogs (Belgian (Shelley) and Aussie (Dudley) - both nuts - Belgian is neurotic and likes to howl like a wolf at 4 AM and the Aussie likes to eat small rocks) 3 cats - Taiti, Pepper and Tiny Man.

Favorite Lake??? All lakes are good. Just bought a lot on Lavon so that will most likely be my favorite. My mom says it sounds like something from the 50's - and that's not bad at all IMHO!!!

Favorite fish to fish - Redhorse Suckers of course!! No pun intended, but I love course fish - yes carp are good to eat - better than bass when steamed but not better than crappie.

Quit fishing due to too much life getting in the way the last several years. Used to fish bass and a bit of walleye in MN before the turn of the century (cracks me up! I sound like an old fart icon_smile.gif First fish I ever caught was a sucker on the Chippewa River up in WI as a little kid.

Things to work on? Well, I've got a lot of those - gettin fishing again is one of them and building a little sailing/fishing/rowing boat is another.

Boat? sold my canoe when we moved north of 380, so none currently - but this is the one I hope to get built over the winter -

http://www.clcboats.com/boats/passagemakerdinghy.php

Favorite fishing partner??? We'll of course my wife. Just wish she had a bit more time to go fishing.

Best thing about fishing? The whole nature thing is big, and so is the feeling of a fish on the end of the line. And the water of course...

Baits? Don't know yet - probably the ones I make myself. Actually took a fly tying class back in high school. That was a good class!!!

Hobbies? Too many - work keeps getting in the way of life - gardening, model trains, painting, sculpting, fishing, hiking, a few beers, grilling - especially corn on the cob with bratwurst and kraut.

Foods? Fish is my absolute favorite, followed by German sausage, corn, yams, venison, pheasants, quails, - now I'm getting hungry for some birds icon_smile.gif

Fishing partners? Always, it's mainly about the time right now.

Mike Burnett
Wylie, TX
Age 40

Married to Teri for 3 years. One child together, 2 years old. One 11 year old daughter from previous marriage. 14 year old step son and 16 year old step daughter.

Work - Plano as System Engineer supporting several state Medicaid claims processing accounts. Wife is a teacher in Wylie.

Pets: 1 dog - one year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Female - Maddie)

Favorite Lake: Lavon, cause that is where my boat is at and 12 minutes from my house…

Favorite Fish to fish: Catfish, but crappie is a really close second.

I used to fish with my buddies back home in Wichita Falls several times a month, but moved to DFW in 1999 and stopped fishing all together until first of August of this year when I purchased a pontoon boat and rented a slip at EF.

Things I want to work on: Becoming a better all around fishermen. Learn the patterns on Lavon. Trying to teach my kids to enjoy fishing and get them out from in front of the TV!

Boat: 2002 Sylvan 20 ft. Pontoon with Suzuki DF70.

Favorite fishing partner: Don’t have too many right now. Hopefully my step-son will catch the fever shortly.

Best thing about fishing for me: Just being on the water enjoying the day away from the rat race. If the fish are biting that is just a bonus.

Biggest fish: R&R - catfish - 46.5# Drifting on Lavon (01/06/0icon_cool.gif - Crappie 14 inches (guessing 2#) from private lake in Saint Jo, TX.

favorite baits: crappie - jigs, cats – Shad.

hobbies: fishing, golf, coaching LL baseball

favorite food: Steak and Potatoes is always good. Pork Tenderloin and Dutch oven potatoes ain’t bad either.

Glad I stumbled across the site. I enjoy reading all of the informative information. Lots of people on here willing share knowledge. Hope to return the favor some day.

See you on the water....

MikeB

Allan Manning
Allen, TX
Age 42

Married to MaryLou for 14 years. No children by choice.

Work – Process engineer for TI working with the DLP™ chips. LouLou is currently a nanny.

Pets: None, lost our ‘Sissy’ last year. Too hard to get over them.

Favorite Lake: Which ever one I happen to be on.

Favorite Fish to fish: Catfish, but I like to fish for crappie, bass, perch, and just about anything else that swims.

As a child I started fishing with my Granddad, who wasn’t too much into working. I think I inherited that trait too. Man I wish I could take him out on my new boat and let him reel in a 20+ pounder. But those days and he are gone. Now I can fish all day and not catch anything which happens from time to time. I like the shallow fishing though. Its amazing to pull a 20# from a foot of water.

Things I want to work on: Learning new techniques and using my sonar better. I’ve learned a lot from the LLFF including: fishing shallow with the fake stumps, making a drift sale, the difference between a sail and a chute, circle hooks, no role weights, Santee rigs and fishing a couple cat tournaments.

Boat: 2008 Champion Coastal, 150 Yamaha 4stroke

Favorite fishing partner: I fish a lot with my current neighbor and an old neighbor. I guess my favorite would be my wife but she doesn’t have much patience.

Best thing about fishing for me: Being out on the water, feeling the pull of a fighting fish, showing my passengers a good time.

Biggest fish: R&R - catfish - 34# Drifting on Ray Hubbard;

favorite baits:cats – Shad, bass – red & white spoon, crappie – minnows, carp – bran flakes & big red

hobbies: fishing, golf, wood working

favorite food: that would be tough because I like so many different things: steak, fish (broiled Cajun, fried), Bratwurst, Sushi (not sashimi), venison, dove, quail, I could go on and on…

I was part of a catfish group who would send emails out on different topics. Sometimes I would get 60 a day. Well that got to be too much so we all joined Wiskerkitty forum. That was fun but it closed down and I found LLFF which has been very informative.

Lets go fishing.
