Find some timber in some shallow water and chuck in a shad. You have as good a chance as anyone. Go for it! It adds a whole new dimension to fishing. I know I have donated my fair share to the winners. Its all good. Ever dog will have his day.

Hey Drawout, this is my second event. I fished Lewisville with my wife who had zero experience with cat fishing. She had so much fun she wants to go again. The tournaments are fun and you don't need to think your a pro to do well. We ended up 13 out of 15. Our goal was to have 5 legal fish and we just made it 45 min before end time.

If you have fished this lake you will likly have some advantage and if you are going to be there anyway you might as well fish the event. I guarrantee you will not regret it.

Drawout,

I second and third those before me. Get in this event!!! Don't worry about where you place. Try what you think will work for you and go with it. When you're done compare notes with the field. The gatherings are great as well as the after talk at the weigh-in. Don't think you are not able to compete with these guys. They know how to catch fish, but the best way for you to learn is to be a part of it and gain the experience. I hope that you jump in feet first. You won't regret it, I promise!!!
