Looks like fishing is heating up. How deep were you fishing and were you on b/p or timber. This weekend was slow for me. _________________ Mallardman

Be careful keeping it in the boat, I kept my wifes old camera in the boat this year and it fried half the screen from the heat I guess.

Mallardman - I was fishing timber in 20ft. I went through 6 dozen minnows between 7:30am and 12. I caught all of them on the same tree

If easy means pulling 42 pound catfish over in to the boat, then I'll take it any day the good Lord wants to give it to me! Yall calm down, I ain't fished for either just yet, I am only trying to get the word to ease my pain when I finally do.... However, when I go, the plan will be to break the lake record. I am only gonna use 5 inch live shad.....I will show you a 17 incher
And Jerry is right, the only way I am gonna hurt the crappie population is by throwing the big cats back!!!!
I don't think anyone needs to worry about that either, cause that means you ain't been on the lake. There are shad everywhere. I pulled up into the Lakeland cove and they were thick and that was after I sacked them up at Mallard and at Highland once before. Not even using the sonar to find them, just getting out in open areas to throw (and the average size seems to be getting larger).
Tim, I am sorry that my fellow fisher people hijacked your thread. I apologize on their behalf _________________ Joe Simpson

Polebender - after reading some of the post I think it would be good for you to move over from the dark side. It would be better on your health. I catch all of my crappie between 7am and dark. I get a good nights sleep when your still fishin

Well in two more weeks I should have some time to go chase some crappie. Lots easier than catfishin and them filletts taste way mo betta!
Sumer pattern should be on now. Very predictable them crappie become from July thru September.
Joe I'll take ya to catch some of them scaly fisheys! We keeps the crappie and throws back the sandies.

Hey Tim your out of collin park right? We may have to get together and chase those crappie as I don't have a boat. Went to the slips monday and caught a bunch of dinks and 1 good one(14 inches). Made the day worth it. What days do you usually go? _________________ If my minnow is gone hopefully there is a fish on

fishfinder - I am out in the lake in 20ft fishing above standing timber. But if you want to go, give some notice and we will catch some. We can meet a CL. It is the summer pattern and it is pretty easy to catch them now. I love to go between 2pm and 5pm. The heat of the day always produces more for me.
