cmon guys. the worst lake is Ray Bob without a doubt!!!!!

Sorry that Fork wasn't kind to you. I still think they could change the lake and have a better event.

Here's a brief lil run down of what/where we tried: We tried shallow in timber on a wind blown point, 15-16 foot in timber, humps that went up to 7' and dropped off to 32', shallow water with lilly pads, cattails, and timber mixed in one, drifting, coves by boat docks, bird island...... We used: shad, cut shad, whole shad, shad fillets, stink bait, stink bait with shad chunks and fillets on them, Shad with blood spray on it, stink bait with shad and blood spray on it, live perch, live black saltys, live black saltys with blood spray on them, and liver......... I caught a 5 pound bass on a live black salty.... The only way to have won this was live there locally and know the pattern or go times in advance and bait you up some holes. This lake sucks as a catfishing lake IMHO and the only way I would fish it again would be in the winter or by baiting out some holes...

Told you that lake sucks! I'll never fish another one of those. Me and Brent P. got money out there the first year and would have won with the "one that got away". But it was slow and very hard to pattern.

I would say yeah, cause of all the dang hydrilla , if you were shallow and fishing on the bottom you were bringing in 10 pounds of hydrilla on your weight everytime.

BTW, I have yet to be impressed with prepared baits. The fish we caught from what I remember were on shad fillets or cut shad....

Chase, had fun, wish I could have gotten there earlier. My wife and I caught alot of fish, between 20-30, but could not fing size. the second day we had some soured maze, and it definatly brought in the fish, bite was non stop. You could see the bubbles in the hydrilla as they were coming at you. We caught a 5.6 lber on the second day around 10:30, my wife set in second place till 10 minutes before the end of the hour, and then here comes the rush of people, and she got run out. I am going to fish the toledo bend one next month, and bring me home a new boat. icon_lol.gif

Well I saw where Todd won some money but that about wuz it for the LLF bunch.

Now Chase, I'm real disappointed in ya that ya went to a channel cat lake and didn't take the primo channel cat bait. Out of all that arsenal of live, dead & concocted baits that sear a humans nostrils, ya didn't have the ONE BAIT!!!!! Next time bring some SHRIMPS!!!! Channels luv the stuff! icon_smile.gif

So Mark, I may have misunderstood the last couple of words...but just for clarification....I mean I just want to be sure of the message I think I read.... but did you say that you think Fork would be the perfect lake for the NTTC classic next year? Did I read that right? icon_smile.gif
