If anyone is interested, My wife and I loaded up and went to Cooper this morning and it was well worth the drive. We launched at the Tira ramp near the dam. I dont know Cooper so we worked mostly riprap and points for a couple of hours until we stumbled onto a loaded hump. When it was all said and done we ended up with 13 keepers in about an hour and a half and only had 4 sandies and 1 hybrid that didnt make size. The best part of all was that we only counted 6 boats from 7:00 until we left at 12:30 and 2 of the boats we counted were tubers accross the lake that were very polite about not disturbing the areas where fishermen were working. Very clean Corp lake and nice facilities but could use some sort of docking facility near the launching ramp we used. You might also use caution when launching the ramp area is narrow and there are some very shallow areas near the ramp we used. All things considered my wife and I give it 4 thumbs up!
Good fishing.....
Steve

Thanks for the report Steve. Cooper has been on the agenda since the Morning News started reporting on the lakes populations and stocking history. It is a beautiful lake, but I haven't been out there in years. I'm surprised you didn't see more boats.

I was really surprised too given the article in the News last weekend. Would like to have fished more of the lake but conditions were really rough with the combination of wind and my unfamiliarity with the lake I thought it best to find a spot and stick to it. It seemed like everyone else was doing the same too just sort if sticking to a spot, not much traffic heading to the main lake.
