Be careful when retrieving your sinker and hooks. If you get caught on something always make sure that if they suddenly become dislodged, they would not injure you and others as they travel back toward the rod. Here's an unfortunate story on this:

When I was working in the shipyards in Seattle a friend of mine got to go an a shakedown cruise of a new FFG that was like the USS Stark that was hit by the Iraqi missile (which I worked on during its construction) and when they anchored up by Vancouver Island he fished over the side. He hooked about a 70 lb halibut and everyone was looking over the side watching the fight when the line broke and the 5 oz lead weight smacked this guy standing next to him right between the eyes and knocked him out cold. They had a helicopter fly him to the hospital and he came out of it okay. This happens a lot when you use a leader below the weight that is lighter than the main line.
