Until the lake level comes back up some,I gotta find another favorite area to fish...I'm tired of getting stuck on log jams , sand bars, humps, etc. & just beating the hell out of my boat, and not even catching fish! Sorry...Just had to vent a little after a lousy trip out last night.

I just got back from about 2 1/2 hours on the bank there... 1 good run but no hook up..... it was nice to hear that sound again, though...

This has been a tough summer....

RonnieD- I was out there last night, too. I was the one scooting around with the electric. Managed 1 nice channel (24" are they stronger than blues lb. for lb.? She was in the bushes several times on me.), 1 little channel, and a gar. I got to test out MY new "Garminator" Their scales are like armor! Has anyone ever been able to clean one of those suckers? And how?

Oh and gar with it's head chopped off didn't produce... icon_twisted.gif Back to school and let the lake stabilize a bit. Thursday it looks like the wind is going to go back to the south. Next weekend might be good again shallow...

I did switch to a couple NE facing points by Highland, also tried a little deeper. jmounger- are you saying switch to EF or Avalon, or not that dramatic?

Muskyman, Not that dramatic. The wind only plays a small part of the fishing. The main thing, (in my opinion) is having wind period. The fish will be shallow, no matter the wind direction. The next thing is barometer reading, if you go during periods of rising or high pressure days the fishing is going to be slower. Go before fronts, or during periods of low pressure such as the last couple of days, fishing will be better shallow. I am not saying that the fish quit biting, just change depths. My past two trips have been during a NW, and a E wind. Both trips produced, one of them was 20+ fish the other was 40 fish. Both days fish were caught in less than 4' of water. You just have to figure out where they are traveling, and what type structure they are hanging around that day.
