I'm new to Lake Lavon so I was wondering if any of you local experts could help me out:
1. sounds like shad are critical---so when and where can I find them?(boat ramps? early?)
2. Where would be my best bet for numbers of fish? and how would I go about catching them? drift? shallow?
3. Where and how for the big ones?
4. The area of water north of 380 has caught my interest. Could anybody give me some help concerning where good spots are and how to approach them(drift,anchor, trolling motor) in this area?
Any other pointers you can give me on catfishing lavon would be greatly appreciated.

Great thing about Lavon, if you get some shad and go one of the places that people suggest, you are almost bound to catch a fish or two. It's almost fool proof.

wind will blow on a ramp and you should get shad anywhere from 3 ft to 10 ft right now. use your fish finder for clues.
north of 380 is good.
it is shallow so use you map/gps/navionics to find, channels, tree lines or areas of good stumps. Flowing water attracts big blues although there is not much on Lavon, but it makes shallow water up north good during the warm months.
we'll talk winter patterns once we get through the frustrations of october

For one, those pics are HILARIOUS! Thought I redeemed myself nicely with the last pic I posted BTW, we're heading up for the Cowboy game Fri night (I've got suite tickets) and plan on hittin Lavon early Sat morning till around 11-12 noon. Who else is gettin out? Lynn? Simon? Joe?

i will be at our corporate challenge openin ceremonies friday nite and then saturday mornin gettin ready to throw a big ole party in sachse all day saturday startin around 10 saturday mornin for me until the last one leaves usually around midnight or 1:00 ..........
