Yeppers that be it Drawout! I do add an extra "wrap" to mine...10 in all. Some folks just use 7.
Whats neat is it unties almost as easy as it ties! Just cut the leader about an inch from the eye, push the tag back thru the eye and unwind.
Now just whut other knot will do that. No pinching of line and cross pressure points to weaken line.
And the larger the line test the better the knot seems to be! Snell knot has gotta be the perfecto knot for attaching line to a hook.

| Does the gap of the hook ever cut though the line when you snell a hook using mono?Or is there just not enough pressure on it to cut through.I started using the snell a while back , but then talked myself out of it thinking it would get cut.....I think about these things too much sometimes.

Here's the easy way - http://www.fishing.sh/htmfiles/knots/snelling.html
& if you don't have both ends free - http://www.tackletogo.com/snellinghook.html
I use the uni knot to tie my leader to the barrel & barrel to my main line.
Chris, I have been using this for a while now & have had no issues with cutting & I don't use anything less than 8\0. Sure is nice to not have to use my JB weld anymore.

Chris,
you can wrap the line either way.
just make sure that the direction you go does not lead the line into the loop gap before going thru the loop. If this doesn't make sense, just try wrapping two hooks. One either direction and you will find you should be able to avoid that issue _________________ Life isn't like a box of chocolates..... more like a jar of jalapenos.
