Ronnie where did you stay at,and fish at?We are going there next month and I plan on doing some fishing.
We stayed in a condo on Surfside Beach, about 2-3 miles west of the San Luis Pass toll bridge. There is several miles of beach along there with access roads every mile or so,& the surf fishing is pretty good all along that area.

The Arsenal replaced the Tidewater...If you look at Shakespere's site, they are making some other pretty decent lookin baitcasters now,but the problem is,you can't find the d^m* thangs nowhar!

i have had a few of these reels they have gave me no problems but the drag was alittle weak for 30lb line ....i believe the one with the gold spool is normally 10. bucks higher than the black spool and the gold one has (2) bearings black one just has 1... also the gold has a lip at the edge of the spool so when your catsing you can ride your thumb on it for control......
as for the shakespear bait casters they are hard to find i have found a couple old ones that are still working today .....you may want to look at bps.. tthe m2000 bps reel they have there is aprox.. the same size as the abu 6000 sells for 29.00 and is nearly or maybe is the same reel as shakespear makes ...looks like the parts will inter change and they probably make it for bps ....again they don't have a real storg drag so you may only want to use 15lb on it bps garranitys there branded stuff for 1 year from purchase so you cant go wrong ......
