Alright opening bow season has came and gone, who connected with the
venison? here is a pic of my opening day harvest. The bucks aren't moving much during the day and the acorns are starting to drop.

All I saw was bucks, Had a 4 point follow me around the entire weekend. He first crossed under my tree about 12 yards and the next day he came to a diffrent feeder at 20 yards. Had a young six point at a feeder too. They were both young and dumb, but they did give me some practice at drawing on them. My buddy saw a diffrent six point that was too small as well. I did miss a pig from a ground blind that was walking away from me at 40 yards. I had him pined at 35 so I just under shot him.

We thought we would make a meat haul with a couple of slick heads but never saw one. We did get some inspiration from one of the game cameras. A BIG 8 or 10 point. I will spend the rest of winter hunting his wide rack icon_cool.gif

Nice CAB! Oh and congrats on the deer.

Is that your dog standing? Or did you let one get away? icon_razz.gif

I like your methods. Now I have another reason to take one or both of my "best friends" in the field with me. Although my wife has our dogs so spoiled I don't know if they'd recognize prey if it doesn't smell like Alpo. icon_rolleyes.gif

I am heading to Mississippi in a couple of weeks to bow hunt there. They have a Weimaraner there that is a blood dog. Darned good at it too. I can't wait. I had some really nice come near me last year but just a little too far for the bow.

Congrat's! Yep that time... Can't believe you are hunting shorts!!! Haven't had that opportunity in a long time. But, don't have a place to hunt here in Texas.
