Can anyone recommend a guide for striper on Texoma. I want to take my 11 year old son, looking for a lot of catching fish.

i have gone out once with a guide and I cannot reccommend them. I will send you a PM as to not burn their rep with the general public.

From what I understand JD Lyle is hard to beat but I have to say I have never taken a guide trip with him.

One fella that I have used is Dale Bestwina. Hes a super nice guy. Him and his fellow guides put up with me and 20 others for my bachelor party and they are hands down nice guys. We caught some nice fish too.

My cousin has used him for Duck Hunting as well as numerous Striper Trips and he has never been disappointed.

His prices when I went with him were fairly reasonable as well compared to other guide services I checked. They definately know what they are doing though.

My bad, I posted the wrong site.

What I also liked about him is he will meet you at any ramp you choose. He came to us and we didnt have to go out of our way.

This is not guide specific but let me toss this out.

Before you go out with a guide--talk to them and tell them what you expect. An example---My brother hired a guide and the guide was good. He put them on the fish and they limited out in less than an hour. Then the trip was over. It turns out this guide will fish for your limit and the trip ends. The next time--he made sure to get a guide that took him out for 4-5 hours.
I hired a guide on Lake Fairfield and on Lake RC--both times --I told them we want to catch fish but I want to learn how to fish the lake so I can come back some day and enjoy it. Both times - they delivered.

I believe most guides will do everything to make your day enjoyable and to be fair--they need to know what you as the customer expect.

Billy Burgess with Fish911.com is the best. Got a big boat so he don't get blown off the lake and we have limited every time we fished with him. Keeps his bait real lively with oxygen and gets the bait on his time and not yours.

One time I took some clients fishing with Billy. As we were leaving the dock all the other guides went one way and Billy went another. Asked him if he knew something different and he said the bite wuzn't gonna be no good till the wind picked up so we gonna fish the channel where we will get enuf bites to keep things interesting.

Could here all them guides on Texoma asking over the radio, you found em yet? All answers wuz no. Bout noon the wind started to pick up and them other guide boats started headin in for two rwasons. One the half day trip wuz up and two them little boats they were in couldn't handle the waves.

I asked Billy if we were headin in and he said Nope. Fishing is fixin to get good and we gots plenty of bait. Ended up with a five man limit. Got back to the docks and folks were still hangin around complaining bout the poor bite whilst Billy was carrying a huge cooler of fish to the cleaning table.

One of them unfortunate fellers said guess we got lucky that day. I tole him we had the better guide with the right equipment! Billy didn't say a word but just smiled and kept cleaning fish!

Was it Bill Bannister?

old fart, knows the lake like the back of his hand, catches bait on his time, lets you continue to cpr after the limit. Heck he even cuts the red meat out.

There are 2 guides I used for the past 5 years. Check out JD lyle.

http://www.texomaguide.com

Or Blue Water Striper Guide - James Allen

http://www.texomastriperguidefishing.com/HomePage.html

Both of these guys know thier stuff. The 3rd picture down on the Blue Water site is me on a trip last year in March. We knocked them dead!

I highly recommend either of these 2 guides!
