|
|
| I have question for you guys that launch from Highland. I have noticed on several threads that a lot of you guys launch from Highland and head northeast toward the Trinity outlet. I don't hear anyone talking much about launching from Bratonia across the way. I actually live closer to Bratonia, but don't want to launch from there if there is a problem with that area. I know the ramp is smaller than the one at Highland but is there any other reason? I figured maybe Highland was just closer to some of you guys that lived on the west side of the lake.

just 1 lane versus 4 and highland usually has some places to beach your boat, although not lately. you can get in and out of the lake faster at the 4 lane. _________________ Joe Simpson

| You have to worry about leaving your veichle at brotonia. All the crooks seem to lurk around there and steal you blind.

| I usually launch from Bratoria since it protected from South wind and less busy.

I kind of got that feeling when I drove through there recently was saw spray paint graffiti on the concrete in the parking area. I mean someone must have used a couple of cans from what I saw. I don't think I want to park my vehicle there with some knucklehead running around with a can of spray paint.

Highland hasn't always been the best ramp for vehicle safety either... There can be lots of riff raf out there at night and I'm sure during the day.. I've seen some pretty interesting stuff their with my own eyes... In my younger days of course _________________ BigBrad

i agree with Brad.
Highland has had its share of stuff happen. I guess those out of the way ramps are prime spots for troublemakers. I will not leave my vehicle there overnight because of what I have myself witnessed. _________________ Joe Simpson

| I have launched from Bratonia but have not launched from Highland becuase of things I have heard. My wife was raised in Branch and her entire family warned me against parking at Highland. Things can change, maybe I need to rethink using Bratonia. I have had no problems yet but will be a little more cautious.
