I went out Monday with my daughter (12 years old), we caught 8-10 striper over 20" and around 20 sand bass 13-14". We were on the water by 9:30 and left them bitting at noon. I felt like we had a good day.

Good Job!
How deep were you fishing and what kind of bait were you using?

We were probally in water from 12 to 20 ft. We were using Bomber crank baits. 1 was a chartuse shad runs about 8 ft, the other was a Tennesse shad that runs about 12 ft.

We went back today and did not get a bite. The wind may have been to strong. Could see fish on my finder, but they were not hungry.

If that's Lavon, those suckers are growing fast! With all of the shad I'm not totally surprised but I thought I would see more pics of people getting them.

On Sunday I caught 2 stripers fishing for bass with plastics. They were crowded on a wind blown bank chasing the baitfish that were being pushed up into the shallows. I had tons of bites but could tell they were stripers. I ended up moving to another spot and caught some bass.

I hope Lavon continues to stock bass and striper. The area needs some revenue and the lake looks great.
