Well actually I didn't go dove hunting at all. But now that I have your attention....how did ya'll do opening morning. Sounded like WWIII till about 9 am.

decent, I should have limited but due to some bad shooting I didn't.

getting used to the new gun that I had not shot yet.

It was an adventure thats for sure....

we went out monday monring on those public lands up near Sanger....havent ever done that before but we drove up just before day break, and you would have thought it was WoodStock or something out there. SO many people. We walked about a mile before we found a place to post up without to many other folks around, shot 2 boxes of shells and got 2 birds. (expensive dove.) It was like World War 3 out there. Those Guys were shooting anything with wings....even those white cow birds.... If any dove did survive the war zone, they were professional piolets by the time they got to us. I didnt think birds could move like that. Decided to head back to the truck about 9am (raining lead the whole way back) had the pleasure of walking over a Hornets nest....only got stung 6 times, not allergic but they all got me right in the top of the head. OUCH.!

Hopefully in the evenings after work it wont be so bad. Opening morning is always the worst.

real good ....... sounded like the spots to be was out towards DNT and eldorado ........ got calls from some friends that was out that way at 7:05 from 1 that said he was done and another at 7:40 sayin he had his limit also already

We're those public lands or leases? My maps dont show an area near there.

they are bein developped . i know a couple of surveyors workin those areas out there ..... you just gotta get the permission from developper to hunt it

Guess the wind has these guys layed up somewhere. Saw only 1 last night and 2 this morning. hopefully will start seeing more in the next few days as this wind gets out of here.

Didnt go.

the wife said i had to have dinner with her and the inlaws. I am going this evening though for sure. its a beautiful day today. should be really good.

Hopefully i got my gun fixed last night. last i was out it was miss Firing, it would fire one shell, eject and load a new one. but the new shell would not fire...just "Click" not sure what the problem is. i tore it apart and oiled it up good. maybe that will do the trick. if not. im huntin with a single shot again tonight. lol.

I went yesterday and it was very windy, at times even hard to look up without my hat getting blown off,,,,

I checked out a few fields and there isn't enough structure to hold birds. some are plowed and the ones not plowed have no food or rest area for the birds...

Royce City fields pretty much suck if you ask me.

if you guys go let me know and I'll burn some more gas and meet you there
