I heard on the north side you can, but not on the south side of the lake. True?

false.

The only difference that I am aware of as far as north and south ends of the lake is that you can HUNT north of the bridges.

It was my understanding that any park in the Wylie jurisdiction was alcohol free. (EF and Avalon). I was under the impression that Clear lake does allow beer. Not 100% sure though. I am assuming that you are looking for a bank spot to fish and enjoy a CAB at the same time?

Mike is right on the wylie parks, but it's only a violation if ya get caught icon_lol.gif As far as bank fishing and drinking, I've gone plenty of that over most of the lake back in my younger days, and had a sheriff or two pop in on us and not say anything.. Just asked if the fish were bitin..

i was saying false to the actual question. I think you can have beer on the lake, but the parks should be a no no. There may be some that allow it, but will be up in the air as to whether or not anything happens because of it. Don't be opertaing a boat and get caught with it.........

I have successfully managed to drink beer on all parts of that lake, shouldn't be a problem.

Not a regional or town distinction

According to TPWD there is no open container law. Of course, you can get a DUI for having a BAC over .08. I posted a couple of links below.

One of the pages states that local municipalities can override the Texas water safety act. So it seems, you can't bring alcohol into the park but you can have it in the water. Aside from keeping it out of site in the park, I'm not sure how you're supposed to do that.

I think the key to the whole thing is to just be discreet & be responsible about it ... They do have their policies about it,but I have yet to see or hear of it being strictly enforced.I remember times back when I was an active member of the local Harley Owners Group,we rented the pavillion at Clear Lake for some of our events,& we had kegs iced down in barrels in the pavillion,& drank out of red cups that you could'nt see thru. Any fool could figure out what it was,but the fact that it was not "visable" to passersby,It didn't draw any attention & didn't cause a problem.[I am NOT saying it's OK to do it ,we just did it anyway icon_twisted.gif ]
