| Nice goldie! I love the way they pull. There like fresh water redfish. I fish for them in Wilson Creek with the kids on light tackle. Pound for pound they pull more drag than anything else in fresh water imho.

Next time I'm going to try on my 10' pro angler crappie rod. Should be a blast. I use 15lb spider wire on my crappie reel so as long as I have enough line it should be okay. These were caught on 12lb mono with my bass gear. I started while it was raining & once it was dark & I started catfishing I just had to keep trying the carp, caught several others but not as big. Also caught some decent eater blues. This is out of Rabbit cove directly across from Anchor Marina _________________ Married men don't live longer, it just seems longer!

Carp are a blast to catch on light tackle. They will usually give you three good runs. I used to bait out a pier on lake Nocona and have a blast catching carp. Don I am proud that you were strong enough to post those pictures. You really run the risk of getting torched. You have earned my respect. Way to keep to your screenname.

After you caught that carp, what did you do with him? Did you eat him? Use him in the compost pile? _________________ "I was getting too many snakes in the house, otherwise I would have stayed,"

All fish were released. The two reels on the right were a friend of mine from the park (he's taking the pic), he is the carp guru, names Kevin. I had my cat rods out on the left & 1 carp pole on the right with his. I was using my falcon bass rod with a shimano reel with 12lb test. Rigged similar to catfishing just scaled down, still C-rig, 1/4 oz bullet for weight & small #6 circle hook with 3 or 4 kernels of corn.
