It's serious fun Liverpool!! Why wait for fish when you can hunt thrm down and shoot them!!!
If this takes off, I will find a bow somewhere. My Dad stopped doing archery and I bet there is one around the house. _________________ "I was getting too many snakes in the house, otherwise I would have stayed,"

It's always fun til someone gets hurt..................then it's really fun............I think that was someone elses quote that I'm stealing.
I'm sure you guys know what you're doing, but it's best (for you guys) if I am not floating around at night carrying a bow and arrow !! _________________ Life isn't like a box of chocolates..... more like a jar of jalapenos. What you do today, might burn you tomorrow !!

I got rid of my bow when we moved to TX...... This is very popular in LA. I still want to go on one of the gator hunting trips.... _________________ Joe Simpson

The only way to get hurt would be to swim around showing your pasty flesh in the lights in 2 feet of water....making carp noises. _________________ "I was getting too many snakes in the house, otherwise I would have stayed,"

LP you watch the WFN channel, that carp fishing tournament, and see those Brits in England fishing that square carp pond, with little fishing peirs all around it. And the annoucer doin a play by play, now thats funny.
Best part is , it takes place right by the pubs, where ya can get tankered.
Now that be some fun fishin, not havin to dodge the law and drink all the cold brews ya want.
When I was 12 had a neighbor that got a 25lb draw recurve that was busted on one end where it held the bowstring. So we cut it off the broken part and resized both end equally. We restrung it and he shot an arrow in the air to see how far it would go. Well, the arrow went so high we could not see it. He got scared and started running towards his house.
As he crossed the street to his house the arrow came down and stuck him right beside and up close to the side of his head down through his ear.
How lucky is that? _________________ I'm Fishing Lavon for the Blues....

if you shoot anything strait into the sky it will never hit you unless you move. Rotation of the earth makes it land in a different spot. But sound like a great shot to me I'd be prood of that scar.
Carp in england with play by play? LMAO _________________ We sleep soundly at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on our behalf.

As a physics teacher, I will say don't try shooting an arrow into the sky. Remember there are hundreds of other factors that determine where the arrow comes down. Noone predicts the wind precisely.
Can you use crossbows in this type of contest? Or curve bows only? Count me in if I can get a weapon by then. _________________ Life is short- fish hard.

crossbow works for me. as long as we shoot arrow at fish i'm in favor of anything. I'll repost and get things better organized when spring rolls around. _________________ We sleep soundly at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on our behalf.

| shotguns or dynamite???? sounds about the same amount of sport. Hey, I got some batteries with some metal poles, that sounds like sport to me. I've also heard of gill nets, hhhhmmm, maybe a tourny there. Sorry guys, just can't be quite on this one, bow and arrow ain't no sport unless you're deer hunting: can't say "oh darn, that's not a keeper or that one's too big, i'll just release it. Just my opinion.

| Hitting a fish with a bow isn't very easy at all. You wont have many "limit" days for sure. If you are using what you kill I don't see any difference in bowfishing verses r&r fishing and keeping what you catch. Typically the species targeted by bow fishermen aren't targeted by rod and reel fishermen anyway with the exception of catfish and I haven't seen many opportunities to stick one with a bow. It's a sport like any other outdoor sport and it is a challenge. You should try it some time and see how hard it really is. I have gone out and shot 20 arrows and hit one. It's not like shooting fish in a barrel. And because it is a visual sport you aren't shooting undersized fish. You get to pick your shot.

wow tree huggers in every corner. why would one sports man bash anyother sportsman. I'm a disabled veteran and if I couldn't draw a bow i'd use a crossbow. I don't use jug lines or trotlines but I would never bash a fellow fishermen regardless of his methods.
As all veterans and police have stated "I do not agree with one word you say but we will defend to the death your right to say it" I may not use your fishing method but will defend your right to use it. If it's not for you don't do it. At least leave the ones who like it in peace to do it. IMO _________________ We sleep soundly at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on our behalf.
