| Hey guys I'm looking to buy some new reels for catfishing. I have a bunch of baitcasters that I use for bass fishing, but nothing with a clicker. If any of you want to include some advice on your favorites I would appriciate it. I don't really know one from another so any imput would help. Also I don't have any particular price range, but wouldn't really want to spend four or five hundred dollars apiece like I have seen some of the top end bass reels run.

| For the price and the service behind the product. I would go with ProAngler Reels. PM Tex for details.

My personal favorites are the Cardiff and the Corsair by Shimano. Cant beat a shimano drag. Cardiff's will run you about $100 a piece for the 400 and the Corsair/Corvalus will run you about $70 new. You can get the Corsair which has been discontinued off of ebay for $20.00. I have a mixture of these three reels with the Cardiff being my favorites because they are really smooth but the others have been great and have held up well.
YOu can also get the old stand by Abu Garcia's. I used to be a die hard ABU user until i bought my first shimano. Whatever you get just make sure it has a clicker. Catfishing is not the same without the clicker.

I use stictly ABU's. I personally like the red 6000's the best.. You can get them on ebay all day long... _________________ BigBrad

I have been using the ABU Garcia reels with clickers since the mid 70's. These are strong dependable reels that will last along time and bring in many many memories to come. I like using my 6000c for catfishing, and when I am going for the big cats i love my 7000c reels. _________________ A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work.

I love my Penns. Squidders, Jigmasters, 209's and 309's should cover about any situation, on the boat or on the bank. These can often be had on Ebay for between 20.00 and 50.00. Squidders will be a bit higher, but this is also my favorite casting reel. I can throw it farther than my Baitrunner, which you should also consider if you are looking or a spinning reel...
Good luck with whatever you choose..
