Any boat ramp at daylight if the wind is blowing waves on the ramp should pay off.

as saod above...hit a ramp early or late that has the wind pushing in to it...this holds true from spring thru fall (different story in winter)

Let's here that story then. What happens in winter? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Call Scott Sandy - he will have the bait.

Winter is difficult to catch shad on the main lake because they are balled up in the deeper water. That is why so many drift or fish deep water humps in the winter. The Blues will be stacked up under the shad.

shad are easy spring thru fall then even easier in winter.

Make sure you pay scott well. his prices are too low, and make sure you do the driving for your bait.

what i'm saying is scott is too accomodating (to a fault) he will drive anywhere to give you fresh shad way below market price.

go meet him at a ramp or his house or at walmart b icon_wink.gif

you will never be disappointed in his product. just be aware he ca not always be there when yo need him (apparently wants to have his own life too icon_lol.gif ) make sure you freeze some of those big guys you get from casting to save for winter as a back up.

Mike and Simon answered it. Shad run out deep in winter and they are a little more difficult to net. You can find em balled up out deep, make sure you have heavy weights on your net and enough rope to get it down to em. Aside from buying bait from Scott in winter, you can also sometimes find em up in the creeks as the big gizzards make their spawning run.
