| So i've been thinking about hunting Lavon a bit. Are there access points to the hunting areas or do i just pull over on the side of the road somewhere and walk into the woods? Looking at the hunting map, it just shows you where the areas are...but doesn't tell you where you can access them from. The Corps of Eng. site says the hunting areas are fenced in, so i'm thinking there are access points or something....anyone know?

as of last year you have to register at the headquarters to be able to hunt lavon, go to the HQ by the dam and register and they will give you a map too. it's all free.
what do you want to hunt? when looking at the map, as long as you're in the red shaded areas you can hunt (shotgun only)

I was going to do some squirrel hunting while i scouted around for some Deer or hog sign. i've never checked the areas out but if i see a decent spot for a bow hunt i'll probably hit that up when we're not at our place in east texas.
I went to the office this morning after dove hunting (no birds) and they were still closed. said was sapposed to be opend at 8, but i guess if they dove hunt to, i can understand. =)
