Have any of you guys done very well bass fishing at night on Lavon? I have a couple good spots that I can always catch some fish at during the day but I have fished twice at night and cannot buy a bite after the sun goes down. I have been trying all the common night fishing lures and spots and still cant find any. I am starting to think that lake is not a great bass fishing lake at night but it is probably just me.

I have done quite a bit of night fishing because that is about the only time I can get out. I'm not much of a fisherman but I definitely catch more during the day than at night.
I was actually out last night with my brother (North of Highland) and we didn't catch a single fish. Granted we were chasing the cats and, from what I hear, they are hard to come by right now.
I'd love to hear any tips for night fishing. _________________ Matt

I haven't fished Lavon at night, but I did get out yesterday for a little while. I started by the dam @ 7 and had the boat back on the trailer by 9:30. It is getting too hot out there. I only caught one little bass (green jig&pig). I only fished the rocks by the dam @ 80 yds worth. I just bought one of the cheaper versions of the SPRO frogs. I used it at Bethany Lakes for about 2 hours on Sat. am. and that thing was a lot of fun. That is it for now. I am off to Lake Whitney this coming weekend, so if anyone has any hot spots that they are willing to share...
ps. I have never been to that lake, but I do have a map.

I guess that I will report what happened on Whitney. On the water fishing @ 6:30 and had my first bass within 15 minutes. I caught 9 more within the next two hours. I was using a crank bait. It was a look-alike for the sexy shad. The only problem was these bass were all from 10 to 13" fish. I only lost one that I think was an over, but it was just from feel and it might have been a shorty also. I could not get anything on deep water fishing. I tried all kinds of stuff... c-rig(lizzard), drop shot(worm-4" to 10") , spinner, top water (pop-r), slab/spoon, swim bait. I have to say that Whitney is a pretty lake and it was down @ 4.5' I will have to try it again some time. I pretty much suck at fishing deep, but I will learn. I was marking plenty of fish, they just didn't like me. Hope that everyone here did better than me.

I stuck with Juniper Cove. It was really neat. There were so many coves within the huge cove. It was pretty awesome. I have been to PK this year and everyone said that was one of the more aestetic lakes, but Whitney was really top notch. I had also heard that you need to be careful where you went so I basically stayed in that area. I will be going back sometime. I need to figure out how to fish deep. I think that I am going to concentrate on that. _________________ I'll procrastinate tomorrow
