There will be no tournament in October. Brent and I got together this weekend, and did alot of talking. Brent has been running these tournaments for 5 years now, and doing a very good job at it. He decided last year to let me join him on the ride, and I tried to bring as much to the table as possibl. I beleive that we worked very well as a team , and brought alot of new stuff to the table, and made some steps toward making this organization larger. Along with bigger sponsors, and better weigh ins and tournaments comes alot of time away from family, and sometimes money out of your own pocket. We have had alot of help from people willing to donate time, product, and services to lighten the load.
We are going to take a small break to allow for paperwork and behind the scenes work to get caught up. This will also give Brent a much needed break to do some FUN fishing, and spend some time with his wife. Since we carried over into 08 this last year, we are going to call this our 07-08 season. We will return to a full blown season in the fall of 09.
We will be putting on a Big Fish tournament on Tawakoni, and maybe a couple on Lavon. So you will still have some events to pass time. Please keep a watch on the website, and on the LLFF site for updates and events. _________________ TEAM TIGHTLINES

ditto on what Chris said...
I have personally had a blast fishing these and will be sorry to not have them, but I don't mind the break either. I am sure we can get together a fun tourney or 2. _________________ Joe Simpson

Well it ain't like there won't be any activities. Just won't be as structured as in 2007/2008 season with a tourney every month and angler of the year. We still gonna have some fun.
This will be a golden opportunity for team Big Country to hone our catfishin expertise to a previously unattained level so we can be even more distinguished at donating our future entry fees to Mickey & Steve!

I just wanna give a brief history lessson.. Brent started these tournaments several years ago with a scale, plywood sign, a tub, and sometimes dads motorhomes.. These tournies were more for friends and buddies to get together and have fun.. With each passing year things got bigger and turnout started to grow and NTACATS was born.. After 2 successful years as acats most active chapter, and record holding turnout chapter and best chapter imo, NTTC was born.. We all know how awesome NTTC was and still is.. So we've gone from the days of plywood signs, 10-12 team turnouts, to a well organized organization with professional trailer, pa system, 30-40 team turnouts, with record weigh ins coming to the scale.. From local teams only to teams coming from all across the state of texas and out of state to fish NTTC tournaments.. That tells me the word is out on NTTC...
I just wanna say this, and if anyone wants to disagree then OH WELL.. NTTC is the BEST tournament trail out there.. People have tried to copy it without the same success.. NTTC brought in over 40 teams to the twok tourney... Twice the number of boats that cabellas brought in, and most of those were locals. To me that says alot right there.. NTTC may not of had the highest payouts around, but to me tourney turnout says more..
So to Brent and everyone else that's helped him along the way.. A BIG THANKS goes out to you guys.. You've given us several good years of catfish tournament fishing, alot of new friends, and I personally look forward to the bright and bigger future thats awaiting NTTC.. You guys Rock.. _________________ BigBrad

The sentiments said above nailed it...Brent (& Jared) you have done a tremendous job with growing these events and developing a first class tournament circuit. These are the best group of guys you could hope to fish with, and the competition is second to none. I firmly believe that many members of NTTC could walk in to another circuit and kick butt and take names. That being said I sure will miss this season...been looking forward to it. When you guys do start back up (or BEFORE) let's have a meeting and let some of the members give a little more support in terms of time, resources, contacts, funds, whatever may be needed. I for one would be glad to help...I'm in advertising and am in front of potential sponsors daily. I know several others here would also chip in to do what they could. Anyway, you guys take it easy and keep mama happy...see ya in '09. _________________ John Davis

When we do kick back up we will be looking for a board of directers, and some that would like to help run the scales and do registrations. We will also be lloking for pople (JohnnyD) who have some connections, or who are silver tongued, and can get the sponsorship side rolling. We are not gone for good, and I know everyone wants tourneys, but believe me this break is going to allow this trail to come back bigger and better when it does come back, so be ready. _________________ TEAM TIGHTLINES

ssanger??? guess that is the Vernon way to say SSinger? About the snelling, if Mr. P can show me one time and I learned, anyone can do it. You will feel a little "ssilly" after you see how "eeasy" it is...
