Fishing Lake Lavon Catfishing Forum shad for mid week try
Gonna be on the lake either tomorrow or Thursday. I will know today sometime. You guys been getting any shad near the slips? Me and a feller from work are going and I was hoping to get in a FULL day of fishing without the bait worry. I haven't decided, but I may go put in this evening and see what I can find.

Fishing Lake Lavon Catfishing Forum all fishing and no working
Got out this morning and it was a beautiful day!!!!!! Went north of Highland to see what was going on and the fish were there. They didn't run off with the bait, but they would hit it. biggest we landed was around 15 and i forgot to take a pic, but my buddy caught a 9 that was the biggest he ever caught. missed not 1 but 2 toads. one wrapped a stump and splashed and the other was a slow roller that i let my bud set the hook on - sometimes you gotta use your finger to stop the spool  didn't wear out the fish, but caught some and had a good time.

Fishing Lake Lavon Catfishing Forum Winter-time shad.
This fall I made the jump to college, and am currrently in Aggieland (Fightin Texas Aggie Class of 2012 AAAAAAAAAA!!!). I grew up in Richardson, and love to fish Lavon, but I have never tried catfishin in the winter and would like to try my hand at drifting this winter. If I was at home, I could net a bunch of cutter shad and save up for the winter, but seeing as I'm here in Aggieland, I cant do that (I've only been able to find hooker-sized shad, and the freezer in my dorm-sized fridge is really small). I was wondering if yall had any suggestions on where to find shad in the winter, or if it's even possible. There's a Vietnamese grocery store across the street from my house in Richardson that sells drum and mullet, so I was wondering if maybe that would work. I appreciate any help you guys can give me. -Tom

Fishing Lake Lavon Catfishing Forum what taste more fishy? Blues or Channels Only?
We have all caught both Channel and Blue cats. When tasting which fish taste more fishy to you? I cleaned the two fish diffrently and I am thinking this might have something to do with the taste. I used an electric knife to fillet the blue and it does not tatse fishy at all. I skinned the channel and then fillet it. I notice it leaves a silvery sub-skin on the fish. Is this what is giving it the fishy taste? May sound like a stupid question but hey I have lots of those!

Tackle and Equipment Misc Boat
Whats the good and bad about an inboard motor? I found an older lund on craigslist and it has an inboard. I don't necessarily like the boat, but it's always an option. Heres a link to the ad. http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/boa/911688491.html

Tackle and Equipment Misc Something to kill time
Fisherman Try Your Luck You will see the fish swimming in the lake. Click on the place in the lake you want the man to cast his line. Remember the fish are swimming and if you click on the fish by the time he casts his line the fish will have moved beyond that point. So click on a spot ahead of the fish where you think the fish will be after the line has been cast. This is for all of you great fly fishermen .so, good luck, and no lies!!! Click on the web site below. http://www.peninsulaclarion.com/kenairiverrun/kenairiverrun.html
