I went to the big lake this past weekend. I fished with a buddy and my son. We started with crank baits and a spook. The cranks got hit but there was nothing on top. It got hot quick, by 8:00 I was sweating pretty good. My son is brand new to bass fishing and the CB's wore him out We ended up quitting @ 10:00 with not much to show for. Here are the totals
1 - 2.7 LMB
1 - .6 LMB
3 - Magnum Sandys
2 - .5 kittys
1 - .8 drum
The sad part was it was basically in reverse order. The bigger LMB was pretty tore up. She looked like she took a hook to her eye previously but she fought really well This fish was taken last real close to 10 on a jig & pig with a 4" lizzard trailer. I will be fishing Joe Pool this next weekend and I have never been there. I will be taking a buddy that has been there and he guarantees to put me on fish. We'll see how that goes. Hope everyone stays safe and out of the sun - it's pretty hot out there 107

I had the day off yesterday and was going to take my son to Lavon and teach him how to use a jig. We went to register him in school and the weather stayed overcast until we were got to the boat. We ended up putting a new fish finder on the boat and decided that it was too hot to take out the boat. We went to a local pond and I caught 4 fish from 6 to 6:30. The biggest being @2lb.
Gray didn't catch any but he was told me that they were biting, but he never connected. I am going to Joe Pool this weekend and will give a report later.
Be safe and set that hook!! _________________ I'll procrastinate tomorrow

Well, we started fishing Joe Pool @ 5:00 and the guy that I went with caught a 5.6 lb by 6:20 and then another fish in the next 10 minutes. These were the only ones put in the boat. We each caught a sandy, but we weren't after them. If I didn't catch that sandy, I would not have caught a fish all day. We were off the water by 1:00. The fish that were caught were on green Jig N Pig. I wish that I could say that we slamed them, but that was definately not the case. Hopefully next time.
